HONG KONG - The population of Hong Kong rose 0.4 percent to about 7.41 million at the end of 2017 from a year earlier, official statistics showed on Tuesday.

The Hong Kong population is measured on the definition of resident population, which comprises usual residents and mobile residents.
The number of usual residents was 7,182,600 while the number of mobile residents was 227,200 at the end of last year.
